So I bought this bike after reading an exhaustive number of reviews mostly based on recommendations and my size. All website blurbs stated that this bike was suited for riders over the height of 6'1". That is simply not true. The seat height adjustment is so short, my knees are constantly bent at such an angle that i cannot ride more than a few miles. Second, the handle bar stem is NOT adjustable up or down. If you are tall, be prepared to purchase a longer seat stem aftermarket and a new set of mountain bike handlebars with a 3-1/2 or 5 inch rise. you will be sitting up pretty high but at least your legs will be able to do the work.

This bike doesn't come ready to ride. Maker claims it needs fine tuning but doesn't shift at all. I've adjusted several bikes through the years and they all shifted fine. The Mongoose didn't. Following the manual directions, I turned the adjusting screw in down all the way and the chain wouldn't move out to the outside gear. The adjuster on the wheel seemed to adjust out and back but all I got was not shifts at all, straight drive only. I concede a bike shop could fix or adjust it and if you get this bike that's what you'll need to do. I pondered sending the bike back and their return policy said I would need a return # and there would be a 20% restocking fee and needed to be in perfect condition and packed the way it was sent. It was exactly what was described all pieces were there.. The only issue i had after putting it together and doing the adjustments was the deraillers it wouldn't shift right and the instructions were no help took it to local bike shop and found that the rear derailler was bent a quick stratning by tec and adjustment goes it to each gear like butter it was worth the $20 also the tires are wimpy looking for a 29in bike so while it was at shop put new Hancock 2.1 on it and mud flaps now the bike is the bomd looks awesome and rides great
