I bought this album after hearing their single off the album, "I'm Dead." It's an incredible rock song with great vocal melodies and pulsing rhythms. Great guitar riffs, and an awesome combination of clean and heavy vocals. I assumed the rest of the album would be at least something similar. Unfortunately this was not the case. While the single "I'm Dead" was a wonderfully melodic hard rock masterpiece, the rest of the album was a bunch of harsh industrial-ish metal. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of all ends of the rock spectrum, from classic to alternative to all-out heavy metal. But after falling in love with the single that I had heard so much, I was very disappointed that the rest of the album was COMPLETELY different. I wouldn't be surprised if this was one of those situations like Warrant's "Cherry Pie" situation, where Instruction's producer listened to the final cut of the album and asked the band to write another song to be the first single, and they gave him "I'm Dead." But then, that's pure speculation on my part. Now I'm not saying that the album was bad music. I was just very surprised to hear what I heard. Although I will say that the final track was bad music. That song was a terrible mess of yelling and cussing. Again, don't get me wrong, cussing is no big deal in the right place at the right time. But that last song sucked. But then, that's just me. I may would have enjoyed the album more had I not bought it with such high expectations after enjoying the single so much.Read full review
