This is an excellent looper. Well constructed and it has great functionality. It may not fit everyone's needs, and to do so would probably require a much larger unit. The unit I received would not download from the PC but eventually Pigtronix tech support came up with a solution and it works perfectly as advertised. One of the few things it does that I do not like is that it allocates storage evenly between all presets and loops. This means that the maximum preset and loop length is fixed. You get the same recording time available whether or not it is the only preset that is loaded. It seems like it would be better for storage to be allocated dynamically so that short loops don't take up the same amount of storage as a long one. I am sure there is a good reason that the designers implemented the storage behavior the way they did, I just don't know what it would be off-hand. Audio quality is superb. I would recommend this looper to anyone looking for a quality product that works as advertised.Read full review

This looper pedal has great sound quality. It's been a bit of a learning curve, particularly saving recorded loops. Using this unit is not very intuitive so you will definitely need to read the manual and watch the demo videos (which are very good). I lost a handful of loops because I thought they had saved but they had not. With a lot of practice, this can be a powerful tool. I think the boss loopers are much easier to use.

Getting used to a clever device is never easy and I've certainly had ups and downs during the first two weeks. This means in plain English: Prepare yourself for a steep learning curve and take one baby step at a time. The reward of your patience and studies into the Infinity looper await at the other end... This is a complex device and at first I wasn't sure if everything worked correctly: "Maybe I got a lemon?" crossed my mind... But fret you not! Read the manual once twice and go to some forums for good measure and you will find that this is THE coolest and most capable looper around. I'm by no means a newcomer to loopers, but this one is just jam packed with programmable goodness. My Digitech stereo looper is still in my modest studio, but the Infinity has MIDI and therefor is totally connected to my Beat Buddy and two guitar amps. The Beat Buddy is routed into a huge PA (In my basement...I'm borderline nuts!) and the Beat Buddy drives the tempo of the Infinity looper. Since I'm an old looping guy who never could interest my friends in playing with a looper (especially our drummer -you guessed it), I now feel like I'm in heaven. As I said: it takes time to get under the skin of the Pigtronics Infnity, but the learning effort is well worth the wait!Read full review

If you are looking for a looper to sync to a Beat Buddy this is it. I had a problem getting the looper to record because of a setting. I called Pigtronix and left a message for the only person who could help(I was told). Two days later I received a call and the problem was solved. A bit frustrating. Now that I have it set up and running is works very well. I can start the BB, hit the record button on the looper, and when the BB comes around to the first beat of the measure the looper starts recording and stays in time. Start playing and go crazy!!

PigTronix is doing some very interesting design. I bought this to replace my Gibson EchoPlex Digital Pro (EDP), something that is still revered as one of the greatest hardware loopers, even though it's discontinued for over a decade. As much as I love my EDP, I wanted to work with something smaller, non-rack, and on-the-floor... Additionally (and this is really what drew me to the Infinity...) I wanted to invest in something that potential to grow with me. Hence, I shied away from any of the loopers made by Boss/Line6/Vox...., which have shown a remarkable short shelf life, and seem to prioritize a closed-minded set of features (for narrow, pre-determined creativity), and, in short, haven't read David Torn's open letter to the looper-hardware industry... (seriously, just Google it ! ...) So, in addition to wanting something "small and agile", I was also on a hunt for a looper with "growth potential". Before I started shopping for a deal on this, I actually read a lot of manuals, and looked a lot of spec, and even called up PigTronix. I actually got to speak to the guy who writes/updates/customizes the code for the Infinity. We talked a lot about features of my EDP, and how they compare to the PigTronix. We talked about if and how the Infinity does/could re-create behviors of the EDP. Even though it became clear that the Infinity would not be able to fully replace all the kung-fu of my EDP, I was sold on it's open-ness and growth potential. The engineer on the phone (read that, PigTronix lets Engineers talk on their phones, not just salespeople) even offered to write a custom OS for me to experiment with some features. Now THAT'S a company that deserves my money ! Since the Infinity arrived, I've found it lots of fun to experiment with. The editor/librarian is VERY helpful, and I cannot wait to buy/build the right MIDI controller to (more) fully unlock it's real-time playability. While the font-panel hardware buttons can perform all the primary looper operations, such as Record/Play/Overdub, and Stop/Delete... This looper can do SO Much more... and while a few of the below are available with a remote 2-button hardware switch... the MIDI messages allow you to have direct/button control (with a separate controller) of -- Insert -- Erase (replace with silence) -- Replace ( Erase + record) -- Reverse -- Stutter -- undo/redo -- Varispeed (to re-speed/pitch your loop in pitched increments melodically ! ) -- changing loop presets -- all the other front-panel buttons (split on/off, series on/off, sync-mode, etc So, that's the looper with growth potential. That's the looper for me.Read full review
