This is a totally amazing book by one of the most out spoken newscasters on T.V. Straight forward ; as that is her style. Outspoken , as she has to be sure to explain everything. I liked this book because it was not full f platitudes. The news just is and this reporter knows it. She seems and shares the humor of the events of the world. The book was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize ; is funny , true, entertaining and not so fond of most news programs. There is a lot of biographical info given; explains why she is straight forward. Hate netwok news , you likely will like this ; like news and you will have a better idea of why this is a great guild between truth and a good story. Either love or hate it ; you wll look at the news differently after reading this book. additional information. The way our news is really put together. This book is funny as can be and true. IT was written by Linda Ellerbee , best known for the magazine style reporting in " Overnight" on N.B.C. Linda gives a no holds barred account of her time at NBC. On how she got this job " overnight" She went on to be nominated for a pulitzer for her work on that show. Things about the insides of t.v. most never see. We are taken behind the scenes. Those who have been there know it resembles "Alice in Wonderland ". You will love this book. It and Linda are both quite good. She now owns a production company ," Lucky Duck " and makes progrms for all major networks , incl the big 3 , PBS , Discovery and more. Enjoy the book.Read full review
