I've had the Kinivo HDMI switch for a couple of weeks now and i must say I am so pleased that I made this purchase. It has been performing well and now I am able to enjoy HD quality videos on my multiple devices without the hassle of unplugging and plugging different sources to my HDTV because it only has 2 ports. It is so easy to use. I highly recommend thie Kinivo HDMI switch!

This is easy to set up and works well except for one big point...When you switch inputs, the TV screen will go blank for about 3 to 4 seconds..I guess thats not a big problem in house use but I was going to use this to switch from computer output to video camera output as a DJ at weddings, but with the long delay, its just not KOOL..Get something else if you want instant switching..I tried 2 different TVs with the same results

I've only had one other hdmi switch and this one is the clear winner works perfectly except I've noticed 1 problem with this for some reason when trying to watch Netflix on the nexus player the tv loses connection as soon as you click on the show you want to play not sure why but it seems to only happen on the nexus player perfect for hooking up all your game systems that use hdmi I also have a roku hooked up to it I use this to have all of my systems connected to my elgato hd game capture that way I don't have to plug it into a different system every time I want to record a different gameplay

The Kinivo 501BN HDMI switch is easy to use but I must qualify my answer regarding "Good Value". When eliminating the need for additional monitors it is indeed a good value but the quality of the device is lacking. On my particular unit the HDMI contact ports were not a good match for the cable ends. This allows the cable to move around enough to lose contact and require a little jiggling to restore video. I had to place the unit in such a way as to prevent other items on my desk from accidentally moving the cable after which everything works OK. The remote is another issue. It is very poor quality and I expect it to fail long before the main unit. I'm old school and my first similar unit controlled the monitor, mouse and keyboard all of which had to be connected to the base unit. Even so it was very robust and so well made that after years of abuse it still worked right up to the point that it became obsolete. Never before has the old saying been more true, "They just don't make things the way they use to." Of course it is also true we don't make most things anymore. And they call this progress. Finally. Given all of the above I would still purchase the Kinivo 501BN because it eliminates the need for additional monitors.Read full review

Make sure you wiggle in tight those HDMI cables, device gives more resistance than usual to plug them in. Works with my cable box, IPTV, XBOX, Chromecast & computer perfectly. Haven't really noticed it auto switch at all so far. The remote works great and lets you switch to something thats not even turned on yet.
