Horton Summit HD 150 This is a great bow for the money! It shoots fast and flat right out of the box. It is also sold and serviced in Ohio, USA with online parts and accessories available at www.crossbow.com. The Triple Red Dot Sight makes it easy for anyone to hit the target or bring home a meal! Anyone who can shoot a rifle and can pull back the string can hit the target and use this crossbow. (The string hard to pull back at 150# but not too bad after the cams let off 7/8 of the draw back.) It catches well and sets the safety easily, then is ready to load an arrow. I paired it up with some extra Horton Carbon Arrows. You can't shoot too many at one target at one time. The placement is so tight you may have trouble removing the arrows. At 25 yards and with 100g. field tips the 20 inch arrows are buried 2/3 of the way up the shafts. An Arrow Gripper/Puller really helps when removing the arrows from the target. This is a great product and will serve you well for many years. Everyone who shoots one likes them and are hooked too! Easy to assemble and setup. All you need is a target! The Horton Crosbow targets work well for stopping the arrows since they may go through a regular target. Some Practice, a few extra arrows and some broadhead tips and you are ready to hunt!!!Read full review
Out of the box it's easy to put together and ready to shoot in 10 minutes. Like the size and weight. It is a bit noisy, so I'm ordering noise reducing pads. It is consistent! I split a bolt the first time I sighted it in. Had one problem with the scope. It would not shoot closer than 3" left and low at just 10 yards. I called Horton and they told me to send it back to be replaced with little question. They are supposed to put the replacement in the mail tomorrow. However, I think it is preferable to just get a multi-dot scope and not mess with the Dial-a-range system. If I'd thought about it sooner, I'd have bought a xbow without the dial-a-range function, but a stable platform and a multi-dot scope. It occurs to me that once I'm in the woods and the animal is at 30yards or whatever yardage that my bow is not set at, I now have to dial the range undetected. MUCH more preferable to only have to pull the bow up and put the right dot on the animal. Besides that, the quality and price seem to make it a great deal. When the scope returns I'm looking forward to using it on deer, hogs, and turkey.Read full review
For those of you that, like me, are looking to get into archery hunting, this crossbow package is a very good way to do it. It's an entry level bow, but is of very high quality. I did purchase some better bolts to use for hunting, but the bolts that come with it are adequate for sighting in and practice shooting. The only thing missing from this package is a cocking device, which with this being an entry level package, seems like it should have been included. You would need to be fairly strong to cock it by hand. I was able to get this crossbow sighted in in about a half-hour using the standard pin sight that came with my package. I have since purchased a red dot scope as the pin sight broke off on my first trip out in the woods last saturday, although this was no fault of the crossbow. I am looking forward to spending a ton of time in the woods archery hunting this season, so I will see how well it performs. I am very pleased with this item.Read full review
this is an excellent shooting bow and the price is right. i can't believe how fast and accurate it is. i would recommend it to anyone who is even thinking about trying a compound bow. it is light weight and easy to use.
This Bridge was made of metal, better than stock composit material. The scope rail had to be tweeked a little to fit the arrow holddown spring bolt, 5/16 drill bit and small dremmil tool. All in all this was easy fix/adapt for crossbow.
