It really is a great unit, I'm still learning all of its bells an whistles and yet haven't found anything I didn't like about it, Gives you notice that your about to be in a school zone, warns you when you drift over the speed limit, plus tells you what the speed limit is on most roads. So many times I would have to ask somebody or guess what the limit for some road I've never been on, no more matter of fact its the only back seat driver I'll allow inside my rig. Its a great unit that's at a great price, and everyone should have the opportunity to take one of these babies out for a ride to seal the deal.

The most serious issue is the placement of the MicroSD card. It is on the bottom of the device, and when inserted, it does not go all the way in. Since one will get hold of the device by grabbing the top and bottom, if the SD card is touched it will release it from the locked position. I consider that to be a serious design flaw! I also have a Nuvi 1450, and when inserted, the Micro SD card is COMPLETELY in the case with no way of it accidentally being released and lost. In addition, the 1450 had a complete range of voices and vehicles. The 2639 has a very limited range. While the vehicle issue is only one of preference, the fact that the 2639 does not have a "Male" voice option is a serious issue for an individual with hearing loss in the high frequencies. A male voice is better heard by such individuals than a female voice.Read full review

Great product and easy to read. We use it for travel in our 45 ft. coach and it works like a charm. It is easy to operate with clear voice directions and has excellent road info, speed limits, school zones, etc. Would highly recommend this product.

I bought this to replace an older Garmin because it was consistently wrong in its directions. Surprise! This new model is just as bad. I asked for it to direct me to a Goodwill store and it sent me to an industrial complex with no Goodwill store any where near. Also, when I made a trip from Ohio to New York it said the mileage was 532 miles and it was really 686 miles. On a trip from Ohio to Florida it said the mileage was 772 miles and it was 949 miles! You can't trust it for any thing. I will never buy another Garmin!!
