The Trophy tuning hammer I bought is of good quality, without costing an arm and a leg. I was asked if it was enjoyable. Let me be clear, while I am perfectly satisfied with the tuning hammer, I cannot say that I enjoy tuning my piano. I do enjoy playing it once it is in proper tune.

Handle doesn’t fit, and the star head slips and falls off standard tuning pins. American made is good, but I cannot imagine a Chinese made tool being worse. The handle, I shimmed up so it almost works, but the milling on the star head is awful.

This tuning hammer has a good length and grip that is appropriate for piano tuning. The handle and metal body are well made and finished. The metal is hardened and does not seem to bend or flex at all. My 8024 is US made and was produced years ago. Mine is used to tune a Kawai 6’ 1” grand. The star pattern fits properly over these pins and does not slip or stick. It seats properly over the taper of the Kawai pins. I’m not sure why there are negative reviews. Perhaps the taper on pins varies by brand or the current production is machined from softer metal.

This is a well-made tool. It's study and dependable. It's a nice size. I like this tool. i need on that is not star shaped, so, I'll order another of the SAME company. The only thing I'll change is the square shape rather than the star shaped tool. Overall, a very nice product. John
