Good general info. but it does have a few draw backs. It's more like the old Motors Manuls from the 70s. If you need certian wiring diagrams it is NOT alot of help. You need to change struts or shocks it's good. Good for reference but not in depth repairs.

When I had my 1987 GT, this was one of the first reference books I bought. I found it to be only marginally usefull. It did show most of the proceedures I found myself doing, but the order of presentation was out of sync. The tendancy to get confused was ever present. Also, the manual seemed to be incomplete. Not all situations were covered. As an example, I found that my car had a sensor which would not perform properly. This sensor controled the idle. I replaced that sensor with no change in the performance of my car's engine. After much discussion with several of the pros in the area, I was told that there were no less than 10 sensors which had input to that sensor, and finding the right one to replace would be costly, along with time consuming. Or without a computer check, it would be a guessing game. This sort of thing was not discussed in the manual. To make this story short, the problem got so bad toward the end, I was embarrassed to drive the car. And that was not to mention how the car wanted to rev exceptionally high while sitting at a traffic light, causing the fuel consumption to go way beyond what it should have been. This review is just my personal experience with the manual, and my 1987 Mustang GT. I hope your experience is better.Read full review
Lets face it.... cars are a luxury, therefore an expense. The simple fact is, no matter how you look at it, even if your car runs perfect all the time, you still have to put gas in it to make it go. Expense! But who's car runs perfect all the time? If you have one, let me know so I can get one too! But honestly, at some point in time your car needs some attention. Whether it is the simple oil change, brakes, or something more difficult, wouldn't it be nice to do it yourself as opposed to shelling out a bunch of cash to have someone else do it for you? The Haynes line of repair manuals are perfect for the novice level and up do it yourselfers! Not only do they put the tasks in an easy to understand text, they use excellent photographs to accompany the written repair. Making this a extremely valuable asset to someone with a little motivation to save themselves some hard earned money!Read full review
