These are great little switches for lots of things. My daughter lives a little over 600" from my house, and I set her up on a network to our Hughes Net account by placing one of these switches in the middle of the cable run. I protected it by covering it with a 5 gallon plastic bucket. It is powered by a trolling motor battery, and works great, except it is very prone to lightening damage. I'm sure they were never intended to bu used outdoors, so I can't hold that against them.
Super value for my LED light controller E1.31 DMX network.

It won't win any awards, but it works. The only complaint is that under high traffic situations, this switch can get "jammed up" requiring a power cycle before traffic flows again. I would not recommend this for critical environments or somewhere where you can't easily get to it.
It is great, really small so it doesn't take much space, so you can place it anywhere. The price is great, it was the lowest price I found. No i can connect many things at the same time to the ethernet.
I bought two and they both work great, especially considering the price. I hooked up the switches to my router, connected 4 computers, then ran large downloads simultaneously on all four with no problems or speed loss. Haven't had the switches long so I can't comment on long-term use but my initial impression is it's a great value.
