I run the IT dept at a small non profit, and We have order 3 of these things so far for different offices in the building. They are helpful when I have a network printer on my desk, and 2 or 3 computers as well, and only one Network wall port. this helps me get my job done quickly and seamlessly without having to un-plug anything to swap projects. A must have for anyone with only one network port available at their desk.
My wife has a couple notebooks, a desktop and a printer and the configuration changes on a daily basis. This allows the luxury of easily hooking up any or all of these to the network at once with ease. I would highly recommend this switch for anyone needing to expand the number of hot ports in a space.
This product gives you the convenience of adding additional ports and works like a charm! I needed additional ports on my Linksys Router and felt that for compatiblility reasons, it was best to get the same manufacturer. Awesome product, simple to set up and use!! I have my dsl split with this unit feeding my media computer and my blue ray player. In the future I still have an open port for my net ready tv.
