Product Information

Technological devices must be able to communicate, providing efficient and secure performance. The Cisco Small Business Managed Switch, Model SRW2024P, has 24 ports and is a rack-mountable Ethernet switch using gigabit Ethernet switches to connect up to 24 networked devices to keep businesses running smoothly. This 24-port switch combines the power of Cisco with the stability of Linksys products. Setup instructions for this Linksys hardware product can be located through the Web-based Linksys configuration menu. The Web-based console interface provides the ability to administer passwords and user names to anyone who will require access to the switch with a reboot system option that allows the opportunity to restart the switch. Technology continues to evolve, so this scalable switch with 24 ports and internal switching power encourages the pursuit of continuous improvement with the ability to connect with 256 virtual local area networks. Running on the Windows operating system, this switch is part of the Cisco Business Series, with routing, switching, security, and network operating services working together to power small business data centers. The Cisco model SRW2024P switch serves as an 802.1x security authenticator that will allow access to connected devices if proper credentials are verified. When proper credentials are not provided, access will be denied by the switch to connected devices, which include computers, televisions, printers, scanners, security cameras, and VOIP systems for phones. The remote monitoring software for the client endpoints manages, monitors, and analyzes the traffic history, statistics, alarms, and events. The SFP interface of the two mini-GBIC ports share the gigabit Ethernet ports for high-speed network to workstations at 1,000 Mbps. Consistent with IEEE standards, PoE provides power to the networked devices at 180 Watts. The PoE LED lights make it is easy to identify if the switch is active. Each port with an orange light is validation that a network device is connected. When the PoE light flashes, the switch is active. Port mirroring enables each network packet to be copied from one port to another so the packets can be analyzed to ensure proper monitoring of the network. Jumbo frames support up to 10,000-byte frames for improved network performance and a non-blocking switching capacity of 48 Gbps. The Internet protocol class used is IPV6 by allowing an IPV6 based access control list. The gigabit Ethernet hardware is compatible with the cable of choice between fiber optic cabling or copper Category 5e cabling. The cabling can be up to 328 feet to the switch, hub, or computer for the connected network devices. To maximize space, these free-standing switches can be stacked up to four units high. Each unit is 16.93 inches in length, 1.75 inches in height, and 14.78 inches deep, with a weight of 8.6 pounds. The hardware equipment can withstand humidity during normal operation from 10 to 90 percent and temperatures ranging from 32 to 104 degrees Fahrenheit. The security of this hardware equipment puts the mind at ease and keeps the organization managed at a level of trust with investors, associates, customers, and executives. Cisco Small Business Managed Switches support the confidence that ensures the stability of a small business enterprise and make for efficient data transmissions.
