The plastic used to make the "shell" of this device is very heavy duty - which is obviously good. The stow - away slot at the base is very practical and easy to use. The inside of the machine is not extremely difficult to clean, but somewhat difficult to clean . There is a flange inside from which it is difficult to extract ground coffee. It is essential to engage yourself with getting the ground coffee out of this flange in order to avoid a gradual discoloration from leaving residual ground coffee in the machine immediately adjacent to the flange. The discoloration will become evident since the interior plastic surfaces of the machine are white. This discoloration will not occur if the machine is thoroughly cleaned after each use, being sure to clean thoroughly in and around the flange. It can be a test of patience, but nevertheless do-able. Make sure that to avoid dropping the plastic cover of the machine. It is somewhat fragile, depending on the surface upon which it falls. Read full review

After one use the white plastic cap inside split. I have another one from 20 years ago that I have used full time and this has not happened yet. May be defective. Please help.

Absolutely the best coffee grinder. Already had one and bought a different brand for the beach house. Hated it because it wouldn’t grind the beans completely. Saw this vintage one and as promised it was new in the box. Good product

Exactly what I needed to grind coffee. Used but nicely preserved.

works very well. I bought one about 30 years ago (same model, made in Mexico) that is still going strong, with daily use. So I bought another one for a second home.
