I did the original fansub of this anime back in the days of Laser discs and S-VHS tapes. I was glad that ADV released it but I was disappointed on how they released it and made it so difficult to get the last volumes. So when I found this auction for a box set with a couple skippy discs for a good price, I jumped on it. The individual volumes can be purchased cheap enough up to volume 10. So, it was easy for me to find replacements for the "skippy" discs from this particular boxset I bought. So, now about the product. Holy craap! At first, I thought this thing was a bootleg! The DVD jackets look so faded and crappy and photocopy like. But I thought, maybe that was just from this box set. Then the loose DVDs which I ordered from 3 different sellers came in. It confirmed that the DVDs were not bootlegs, they truely do look like SHHHH** AVING CREAM. The covers do look like awful photocopies. Then I looked at the DVD itself. They were pressed DVDs not DVD-Rs, so that was good. But the graphics on the DVD were just as bad if not even worse than the covers. I thought again, maybe it was just the boxset. But nope, the other DVDs I got from difference sources confirmed they all came that way. The DVD graphic was burry, washed out, over exposed, over coloured, a plain horror show. So, you say, who cares about alll that garbage. What about the contents? What about the anime? Yes, the anime is the Dunbine I grew to love when I fan subbed it all those years ago. It is a great story. OH it is Tomino story (better known as GENOCIDE Tomino), so don't get too attached to any characters in the show... I did a video about an old issue of Newtype Magazine of 1995 where I found the LD box for Dunbine. I was so excited they finally released it on LD. I got that same feeling when they finally released this series to DVD.Read full review

I just started the series, so it is really too soon to judge it. The show is an odd combination of fantasy and robots. Wonder who thought that up? I recently just started collecting the aura battler models (remember them from when I was a kid, but my dad would not let me get any because he knew he would be the one to put them together - LOL) and did not realize they were based off a show. So I thought I would give it a try.
