This unit works fine with the Arduino IDE. The build quality is a little iffy (multiple headers soldered in a little crooked), Of course you don't buy these to look at. This would be great for development use. Not sure I would put it in a finished project, expecting long term use. But for designing and building circuits this is great because the price is right, and when you burn it up (which you inevitably will burn one up some time) you only lost a few bucks.

The units will not fit the plastic acrylic cases I bought which expect the connectors to be in the same location as "Made in Italy" boards. It's only a 2 mm error, but a huge nuisance. The problem seems to have been sloppy positioning when the connectors were installed in the holes and soldered. I bought 4 of these boards from two different vendors. One on Amazon and one on eBay. All the boards appear to have been made by the same company. All have exactly the same problem. If you don't plan to use a premade case they are fine, but a huge headache if you do. You can modify the cases so they will fit, but it's a pain trying to cut 2 mm of plastic off. So now I'm stuck trying to return 3 cases that won't fit through no fault of the case seller.

First of all, I want to say that it works, and the price is unbeatable. However, the item I received was assembled poorly. The soldering looks like it was done by a 10-year-old (too much solder, leftover flux, and cold joints), and the I/O pins are substantially misaligned. I do not expect to be using shields, so this is not a problem for me. If you know how to solder, though, this can be fixed easily. I am using Windows 7, and the drivers automatically installed for the CH340G worked fine. One problem is that I have to hold the reset button until just after my computer starts trying to upload a new sketch. Otherwise, the sketch will not upload. For the price, all of this is perfectly acceptable. In fact, I will probably buy more of these in the future. I do recommend that others buy this because it's a functional $8 Arduino Mega. Considering past reviews, it's very possible that I got the short end of the stick. If the worst possible case means resoldering pins and holding the reset button, I'd much rather buy 5 of these and still end up paying less than a single official Arduino Mega.Read full review

This MEGA 2560 R3 compatible board has very clear labeling. R3 versions however have some new pins that are not identified by silk screening, including SDA and SCL next to the AREF in the row of female headers. I quickly found a pinout diagram online that described the unidentified pins. This board appears to be very high quality. I ran a few sample programs on it without a problem.

I was very pleased when it arrived. I was writing a short programs and it worked correctly. After 5 or 6 downloads it stopped to communitate. It was not possible to download program. Because I needed for a friend urgently a went to shop to buy product made in Italy and it is working. I cannot recoment this product,
