I bought this book because as an Anglophile I wanted to see what Anglican writers Webber included. I have been very pleased with the selection. I also like the way he has organized the subjects (e.g., readings about Baptism on most Saturdays). I am sorry that he has "modernized" the language to some extent. It thereby loses some of the flavors of the various generations of writers. It also makes some of the writers sound not as literate as they were noted for being --- repeating "God" over and over again instead of using pronouns make the writers sound like they are channeling the pronoun-less Elmo!
Great devotional book. Each reading (by different authors through the years) can be read in 5 minutes and has wonderful thoughts for the Lent season.
