    Solid Contact Connectors

Not one problem with this set of connectors. Accepts solder readily. Solid connections. Absolutely no shorts. Perfect selection if you construct your own "in the shack" connection cables. Quality metal. RG8X adapters snugs up to cable and totally protects center conductor insulation from heat when soldering shielding to connector. All in all a tremendous value.

    Cheap connectors

They might get you by or ok for CB but not very good for amateur radio or used outside. I recommend real Amphenol Connectors.

  • RG8 or RG8X

I have a hard time soldering these connectors, but with the open area, not the holes, I can get all the solder I need into the ground. The reducers fit nicely on RG8X if you need them, but I just use them for either large or small coax. They are inexpensive enough that you can redo your connectors on the lines if you even THINK you are having trouble with a connector. Make sure to watch the online tutorials on how to solder them properly and you'll never have trouble. These have worked out great for a contester like me!

  • Good Connectors

These are two port (shield side) connectors. I believe they are nickel plated. I used some 300 grit sandpaper to rough up the areas where solder was applied and had no problems getting good adhesion.

  • Took solder well and went together easily.

They worked for me. Took a little experimenting with cable prep to get the lengths correct. If too much of the braid and center insulation/separator was left it would tend to push the pin out of the end of the connector. Not hard to figure out after assembling the first one.
