I took a chance on the 20lb spring for my sd40ve. I took it to the range twoice and ran 500 rounds. I shot bulk ammo. I had one failure to cycle and one or two failure for the slide to lock back. This was in the begging and first few mags. On my second visit to the range I didn't notice any failures to lock back. I think the spring gets broken in just enough that these issues go away. As far as recoil is concerned Its hard to tell but I was enjoying shooting and didn't notice the same level of fatigue in the hands as I usualy do. Even tough its stainless the tip is black so it wont show that it's stainless.

It voided my warranty and damaged the frame of my sd40ve after about 200 rds .it is built good and good quality but i wouldn't recommend it on the sdve model guns , just stick with a factory polymer one if it aint broke dont try to fix it

Easy installation, fits well and functions great. I've put a little over 200 rounds through my sd9ve with no issues firing steel case and brass ammo.

This product with the 20lb spring noticeably reduces recoil and allows me to get on target quicker especially when using 124 grain rounds. Kind of wish the retention bolt on the end was stainless as well for appearance.
