I bought this since i bought the "First Signs" of the same people. First one was good. so is the second.. Actually the second one (that is this one SHARING SIGNS) I would say is much better than the first one. As for why i really bought the two are simple.. I did some research on internet on sign language for babies. It all said the good things about it, well i will know the truth maybe a year later.. my girl is yet 7 months.. the DVD says its for 10 months and above.. anyway as u wil know every baby is different, so I thought why not start early, maybe it is better. Now she plays with her hads a lot, maybe she will start onto using some of the signs.. Some of my cousins and a friend also viewed the DVD and is showing it to their children.. they are like 14 months now.. one of them is very good now, she can relate things to the signs and does it.. its kind of cool.. I recommend it.. its great.. so i wud say, these things are good, and it will help our children grow to be better people.. I am not sure about the similar products as I haven't used any other..Read full review
This is an excellent DVD for teaching your child baby sign language! It is very entertaining for baby but not so much for adults. My children like to put it in and watch it just like a cartoon like Dora because its interactive! The only thing I do not like about it is they show an adult doing the sign language correctly and then show a baby doing the sign language how the baby might do it(not correct), which is great for parents to acknowledge, but it is confusing to my children!! This childrens sign language DVD is really great for my child. Basic and interesting sign language is taught with a woman in plain clothes, and a baby or child also makes the sign. The multiple pictures of the sign they are describing (such as a ball) keep the child that is watching interested, and the parent can learn and make the signs with the child. I would recommend this DVD for someone who has a baby up to around age 4 or 5 for sure.
In the past I had purchase one DVD from this series and my both boys(under the age of 2)enjoy watching it. Therefore, my husband and I decided to challenge them with more signs. Even though our youngest (11 months) is not using any yet he enjoys seeing it. I really recommend this DVD's to anyone with children. My older boy (23 months) gets to communicate with us using the signs for things he can't yet say and even if he can say them he says the word and uses the sign as well.
I purchased this along with the baby first signs DVD. My 8 month old enjoys watching the DVD's, they are colorful and have the little baby signing which she loves. I have found them helpful but you have to continue to reinforce the signs day to day. They are recommended for ages 10 months so I am am sure by then my baby will be familiar with the signs and will find it easier to sign.
