I bought the phone with a few specific goals in mind: 1. Cheap prepaid wireless voice and data. Boost Mobile offers these services (10 cents per minute voice, 35 cents per day for unlimited wireless web). 2. I wanted to receive Facebook updates and Google Maps transit directions. The Opera Mini browser (version 3.2) works well with both of these sites. The mgmaps app gives me basic navigation (local search, driving directions, etc.). All of these apps are free, but somewhat difficult to install. I had to download developer utilities from Motorola to install the apps since Boost Mobile wants you to use their app store. The phone screen is pretty small and it is a little slow running the apps. The GPS works very well. Sound quality was average. It's a great cheap phone if you want to play around with wireless apps.Read full review
This phone was purchased for my son as a Christmas present. I didn't want to get something expensive but I did want something reliable. The Motorola I415 offered both. We rarely experience dropped calls or static noise. The phone also has a GPS-compatible program which is a big plus. My two negative comments would be 1)the somewhat bulkiness of the phone and 2)the problem w/ unintentionally calling out because of exposed keypad brushing against something---flip phone tends to alleviate this issue. Other than that, this phone works great.
Amazing phone for the price. Very loud speakerphone maintains clarity with no distortion. Very loud ringers as opposed to other phones I've had that are too quiet on their loudest setting. Good strong build quality which Motorola is known for. Only used the walkie talkie feature a few times but it's convenient and nice to have if you need it. GPS functionality allows use of a lot of free 3rd party apps for tracking and navigation. Great phone overall.
I like this phone because it was easy for me to figure out. I can also use it to surf the internet, it has GPS, and a ton of other really good features. It's not an expensive phone, and except for the fact you should never wash it in a washing machine, it works really well. If you are looking for an inexpensive phone that does a lot, this is the one I recommend. Other than not being able to immerse it in water, it is pretty sturdy.
I got this phone actually for my mom in VA to keep in touch while I'm in NC. She has a pre-paid phone, but I told her boost phones are alot better and she can talk all day without losing alot of money. I love these phones and it's not hard to use. I can't wait until my mom gets hers.
