After reading Louder Than Words I could not wait to read the second book in Jenny McCarthy's voyage within the world of Autism. These have got to be the most helpful books that I have read since learnng that MY son has autism. Although our stories are different, in some way they are the same. I truly am not alone in how I feel. I am very thankful that Jenny had the courage to put her story into words. We, Mother's truly ARE the Warriors for our children and will not back down until we have answers and can be at peace with the path that we have chosen. I am sure I will read these books several times and each time will find something new.
I loved this book because it tells the real story and not the one you hear on the news shows. You feel for the families but are angered by the AMA for not listening and letting more children and their families suffer. My 3 yr old was misdiagnosed as autistic last year so I wanted to hear their stories.
I would have to tell everyone how much we LOVED this book, and how it helped guide us where to start with our son. We got the book in December and 1 month later we already see the changes with him. I would recommend this book to anyone who has a child with Autism, plus Jenny is real. She doesnt sugar coat things and she just puts it as it is... Thank you for leading the way Jenny!!!!
It really helps to read on how other people are dealing with these challenges & suceeding. It also gives hope to other ways of treating these condtions. It gave me hope & a new course of action to help my son.
I am by no means a big reader, but had a hard time putting this book down. If you have a child who is in the autism spectrum this book is a MUST HAVE. The stories are sad but very touching and inspiring. We have gained such valuable information from Jenny's books!!!
