A friend of mine had been raving about this band & I'd been meaning to check them out for some time. I'm certainly glad I finally did! Morphine definitely had a unique sound for a supposedly "alternative" group for the '90's. I don't think I've come across too many (if any) bands of that era whose sound melded the jazzier style with rock quite the way they did. Great sax playing, & very solid & consistently interesting songwriting makes this release a winner in every way! I just wish I'd discovered them back then!!
morphine is one of my favorite bands. this disc is one there best by far. i bought it to replace at least 6 others ive bought. thank you to morphine for making this and the other albums they made. sorry for the talented loss that put and end to it. i just wanted to see them at least ounce that is a regret ill never forget. his death was a tradegy for there music. i hope at one point theyll come up with somthing to put out more music.
Incredible unique music. One of my favs. Great talent RIP Mark Sandman

Morphine's Cure For Pain is very simply one of the best albums ever recorded. Unconventional, guitarless, low-fi, sax, bass and drums three piece band that is a mood, more than a sound. This is simply a must have in any cd collection. It gets better everytime you slide it into a cd player. The world is certainly not better off for losing Mark Sandman and Mophine. Thankfully we have a handfull of albums to keep forever.
My wife likes it an that's all that matters. For me, I can enjoy it as well.
