I wanted a metal cased optical wah, and this was the best price. I read the reviews and knew to expect some things like it not holding level or wherever you put it when you take your foot off. It has all the adjustments, and after trying them, just the regular wah is fine. It has a good sweep and is very smooth and quiet, unlike so many. Nice and stable, with relatively low battery draw and easy, for a change, to change it. The time to shutoff after taking my foot off was fine, but can be adjusted inside. The two adjustment knobs for 'contour' wah, are probably good for someone with better hearing than me, because I did not find it useful. It does a great job of upgrading from my Cry Baby, to easier, smoother, and quieter, with a little extra range.

Ok, so this thing has the LARGEST footprint of any wah pedal I know, which sucks. Tonally, it is pretty capable, from subtle to incredibly dynamic, if you are willing to play with the settings for a minute. I'm not a fan of the way it engages. Instead of a push-button in the toe-forward position like most wah pedals, it engages with the weight of your foot, and it has a fairly abrupt change in sound upon engaging. Otherwise, I think it sounds great and is very usable. Great budget wah!

The auto on/off feature takes some getting used to because these pedals sort of lag. There are videos which tell how to remedy this. Contour mode gives more tonal options, however, the default setting is fine with my ears. Overall, this is a good sounding and very useful effect pedal. I'm happy with my purchase.

I decided to skip the 'traditional' wahs for the simple reason of having a switchless wah. I felt that it would be better to have a wah that would turn on and off at a whim. Morley was the obvious choice, having heard so much about their products, and the Bad Horsie 2 looked to be the business. First impressions, the switchless function is great! Many players discount this as a non-feature, but trust me, once you go switchless there is no reason to ever go back to those switch-operated wahs. As for the tone, there is a slight 'compressed' tone(in both standard and Contour modes) which makes it great for modern styles of guitar music but the overall versatility more than makes up for it! All in all, I was (and still am) impressed at how wide and vocal this wah is, and how it handles high gain. I've played 3 different Dunlop Crybabys, including the Zakk Wylde signature, but this wah beats them all in terms of usability and features.Read full review
