I don't know why, but I found the handle slightly better than on the Mora Bushcraft Black that I won. It's probably the same, but it feels better to me. The thinned out blade tip is not as weird to me now. Due to my natural curiosity, it's nice to have it and to be able to try it out. I prefer the stainless steel for constant use here in Florida due to the terrible effects of humidity rusting things out very quickly. That being said, the Bushcraft Survival Desert, the SRT and the Orange are still in production, but I liked this model because it's cheaper that the Bushcraft Survival models, but like the Forest it has the same handle and it's comfortable. I like just getting the knife and sheath without the extras on the other models. It's ergonomic, light, and sharp as can be.

Wonderful combinations of resources with knife, sharpener, fire starter. Well thought out including great double option of two belt holders. Also well designed is how well things lock in, knife in sheath, fire starter locks in, belt loops lock in. just no worries about losing items. Came very sharp, fits in hand nicely. The Scandinavian single bevel is new to me and I am not sure how to sharpen it. Some brief instructions would be good. It is all black (bad for dropping in the dark but good on ninja turtle stealth missions to cut pizza in the refrigerator), except the sharpener. Is it possible to make a black diamond sharpener? I still sharpen at home HQ and use the attached sharpener for emergency back up sharpening in the field. Means you can stay out for hours making tooth picks to impress friends and family without having to go home to sharpen!! Just a great impressive package but I would expect nothing less from Mora. I also have a couple carving knives which are awesome to work wood with. Really hold an edge and the shape is perfect.Read full review

Whether you're new to bushcraft or an experienced craftsmen, this Mora knife should find it's way into your tool bag at some point. Very affordable and it is really impressive out of the box. Cuts very well with the Scandinavian grind, batons well as a mini wedge, and easy to resharpen. Handle is sticky and feels full in the grip. You'll still want a full tang, with this being a companion blade, but there's no doubt this will be the knife you reach for first to do the work. Instead of cons, I'll list these as observations. The sheath is functional for adequate protection and has a drainage hole, but it's not on par with the knife. It's a carbon blade so it will gather rust even with the black coating, so clean and oil it after use...always maintain your tools. And, the rat tail may give you pause in more vigorous tasks, but the performance will outweigh your doubts. Pluses with this kit is a nice ferro rod, 2 belt options, and an emergency diamond sharpener. I'm sure you'll use this knife more than your hip blade, but consider it to be a tool and not a survival blade. Bushcraft is the correct name for this Mora.Read full review

Value for the money, you simply can’t go wrong with this. The only thing that I would say would be an improvement would be a lanyard hole. I also recommend getting a version that is brightly colored such as orange.

Love the knife! Kit is fine but not as needed. I don't need to carry a ferro rod everywhere I go but I do need the knife. Look at the knife without the kit of the ferro rod is not important.
