This knife is an excellent Swedish quality knife at a ridiculously good price point. I love great quality and I love low costs, and it is rare that the two intersect in life, but morakniv nailed it. There are, however, a few caveats with the 511 that buyers should be aware of: 1. The blades come in high carbon and stainless. HC gives a superior edge, but will darken with age. The mora is especially susceptible to uneven darkening, but it'll eventually get there. 2. The handle shape can make certain uses uncomfortable. The molded pommel gets in the way of using a pointer grip and using it as a drawknife. However, if you are using those grip styles regularly, it's a safe bet that you have the skills and equipment to modify the handle to your needs. 3. It is not the best for baton work, but then again, knives should never be used as log splitters. If you need to split kindling, get a hatchet. Otherwise stop trying to look like a lumberjack with your hunting knife. No self respecting old timer would dream about bashing their good knife with a chunk of wood, and neither should you. That's not what a knife is for. Read full review
