This book is yet another well written (this reall does apply to Moosewood cookbooks!) and informative cookbook from Moosewood. Though this particular volume is not extremely useful for daily planning, it is organized in such a way to make planning for more special times very conveniant. I borrowed this book from the library and decided to buy it after trying several recipes from the Mother's Day Tea and Valentine's section for a Valentines day tea party that I hosted. There are many lovely company recipes, holiday recipes that are useful both for the occasion they are presented for and other occasions and several recipes that are more useful on a weekly basis. All of the aforementioned are innovative and all that I have tried are delicious! If you buy this be sure to consider trying special day candies, the marscapone tart, and spring salad. They are my favorites thus far!Read full review
This is the second time I've purchased this book. I gave the first copy to my daughter when she moved away, but missed it so much I had to buy it again. The recipes are arranged by seasonal celebrations, which is kind of unique, kind of fun, with menus. Vegetarian and vegan recipes with familiar ingredients, most very easy to prepare.
I love these cookbooks. I usually have almost all the ingredients in my kitchen. No running to the store to buy 8 things I've never heard of before. The directions are easy to follow. I do wish they had some pictures. But in the end I've found some of my favorite dishes in the Mossewood volumes.
