This is coming from a long time Beck fan (since '96): I like it, but it's not the same as his old stuff. I understand that it's a positive step to try a different sound, but it's not working all the way for me. It has that poppy and fun beat, and Danger Mouse brings something new to his songs. However, after listening to this album a few times, I just can't get into it like any of his albums before Guero. I can easily say that I loved and can sing all of Midnite Vultures. I can't say that about this album. There isn't one song that I hate, but there isn't one that sticks out above others. I felt the same way about the Information, but that's another story. I want Mell Gold 2, and a little less techno with my Beck. Good go, but not the same Beck that I saw in concert.Read full review

A very solid, even, well produced Beck album comes at a price...you lose a lot of the quirkiness. Those who tend to really love Beck when he's pushing the limits will probably be disappointed with this. Every song is excellent but none of them are very experimental or mind blowing. 4 Stars.
Saved money on a brand new CD. Play it all the time. If you like Beck....
