Great little radio for the price. I've seen these fluctuate in price between 50 and 100 dollars and they are certainly not worth 100 but 50 is well worth it. I use them in both my plow trucks and the short distance we are from one another (less then 1 mile) they are perfect. The weather scan feature is very nice as well but I'm a geek and love listening to it over and over and over. You cannot get out more then 2 miles if that as these are only 4 watt radios but for anything less then that, I'd buy these again and again.

Not a bad radio. Get a good antenna and DO use an SWR meter to adjust it. Main reason I purchased this was because it's compact and has NOAA channels. Have had it for a few weeks and the other morning I turned it on and nothing. Fiddled around with it and in the process, bumped the CB/PA switch and viola! It started working. Turns out that switch was not making good contact. I never have liked that style of push on/push off switch. Nothing beats a good slide switch. Anyway, I busted out a multimeter and found what terminals are connected in the CB position. I never use a PA speaker. Fired up the soldering iron and made a permanent connection on those terminals and removed the button for that switch. Works fine now.

Light weight plastic case is only suited for light duties. Works fine but durability questionable as overall build is inferior to similarly priced units using better materials in their construction and none of the knobs are dampened, adding to the low rent feel. Weather mode worked really well in my area, automatically picking up strongest signal, beating the performance of my two dedicated weather monitors, one of which is made by Midland. I compare this radio to the Cobra 19 DX IV, which seems to be lower priced but does not have the weather station feature or the rich orange glow of the Midland's LCD screen, to me it's most attractive feature. You pays your money, and all that. Overall though, I can not recommend this radio at the price point. Instead, look for offerings from President and Uniden, and although the quality even of these brands may not be up there with CB's of old, they're generally well made for longevity and would likely suffer some misuse. Maybe Midland (and Cobra) will stop producing CB radios with flimsy plastic cases and return to the build quality their once earned reputation was made.Read full review

I purchased this cb for use in my 2017 JK Wrangler. I've had many CB radios over the years, mostly Cobra and Galaxys, but space was an issue in the Jeep. So I was looking at the smallest unit I could find and I also wanted the weather band. This radio fits great in between the sunvisors above the rear view mirror. The speaker is loud enough to hear even with mud terrain tires. It may not be a power house but it is a nice radio for the money.
