I've been shooting a Minolta SR-1 for 41 years and I love these cameras! I bought this camera because I wanted a second camera to use with my telephoto and long-tube lenses without having to constantly swap them out. As a plus, this camera has 1/1000 capability along with the auto-exposure feature which makes the long-tube shooting much easier. The XG-7 has excellent heft and a sweet balance that I like when aiming and focusing. The advance lever strokes smoothly and my finger finds the shutter release with ease. The XG-7 is really user-friendly and the body is held easily! 35mm film will be around for a while and, if you like burning film, this camera will always be an excellent choice. Thanx, Minolta!
Actually this review is for Minolta Rokkor PF 58mm f1.4 I am lucky one to have lens mount converted to Canon EF mount, and...............this is theeee best portrait lens now for me!!! Just imagine, you can focus 10 inches away on Canon 7D, wide open images as sharp as if you shot at f/5.6, and bokeh, bokeh, bokeeeeh - amazing!!! I could not believe how good lens works on Canon 7D with converted mount! Trust me I have over 120 manual focus lenses in my collection, and this lens is my favorite now! Yes I would recommend this lens to friends!
Excellent value for the money.
