Everything is perfect, works great and has no scratches. Although the viewfinder is dirty and when I received it the first time, the mirror was badly dirty. I cleaned the mirror to the best of my ability, while the viewfinder still has particles of dirt/dust. Although thos COULD be a big issue of picture quality, I still am very satisfied with my purchase.

When the original SRT-101 was created, it was basically the first major SLR that reached a broad market. Both the 101 and the 201 are superb cameras for someone who is serious about photography, as opposed to using an everything-auto digital camera as a turnkey appliance. With the SRT101 and 201 you get to really learn how to select aperture, shutter speed, depth of field, manual distance setting, etc., etc. Some of my best photos were taken with these cameras in the late '60s, using a very unforgiving Kodachrome slide film which has a minimal exposure latitude (meaning, any wrong exposure results in a very bad image). The best photos were rewarding and made it all worthwhile. The Rokkor lenses by Miniolta are excellent, as well.

The Minolta SRT series is a great manual workhorse. These cameras while now very old, are The perfect manual cameras for small format film shooters. There are some common problems with these cameras. CDS cells for the meter often come loose making the meters not work properly. The springs in the shutter often get a bit gummed up, making the shutter not work as it should. It will click, but mirror won't return. fix with CLA. While heavy, big and clunky, you can't beat a manual camera's operation. The Rokkor-X lenses are tack sharp, and inexpensive. Look out for aftermarket lenses, The Iris often will not work after this many years. SRT201 has some great features, Depth of field preview, Hot shoe, and PC (Flash) connection for studio strobes or handle mount flashes. It gave up mirror lock up from the 101 in favor of the ability to do Multiple exposures.Read full review
Waited till getting a roll of film developed to review but the camera came as described and had no flaws when taking it out and taking photos or any noticed after developing film.

Sturdy. I learned so much about photography using this camera. The light meter is spot on. Batteries are expensive and hard to come by though. Very very happy with my minolta srt 201.
