"Mimi" is about a young adult girl ends up staying with her spinster aunt after her husband obsessed mother decides to kill herself with pills. "Mimi" in this case reflects the film "Little Girl Down the Lane" (LGDTL), unlike LGDTL she is unaware of her situation, or the world that is around her. While she does fends off her opressor ( who is just as equally clueless in LGDTL) Mimi in her case retreats. This movie makes you think about the dumbing down of society and how young adults are unable to handle the smallest of things. It is like walking by an concern parent who is just as equally imature. Every senario you could think of used in this film, and shows off the obvious. I am not even sure about "Mimi" age in the film at all. Is she just a really big girl for her age or is she a very immature teenager. The film leaves with an auw that stabs at how you remember how life was and is. It is good for a rental but for as an entusiast this film is just for people to know you into this sorta thing. That is about it. Mimi could have been multiple short stories on Disc but it was not. It could have been a very long movie that spans hours like "Titanic" but was not. The director/writer in question had a comic version of this done by an Japanese artist. Why? Apparently in Japan many short stories are made into comics in hopes of becoming more, also people read them more. This film could have also been converted into an animation....for adults.Read full review
