Reasonable product with nice bright green laser--better results than red lasers for presentations, but don't use it on a reflective surface for fear of stray reflections hitting an audience member. The safety lock at the back is good for preventing battery drain while it's in your bag (and presumably welcomed in homes with small children). One con is the bulky size and nonstandard battery. You may want to consider a simple AAA keychain green laser pointer if all you want is a momentary switch green laser for occasional presentations. By the way, all these laser pointers with "military" and "powerful" in the title are designed to mislead the layperson. 5mW lasers are standard for the class, and will not light your matches or produce noticeable heat without positioning dozens and dozens of them at the same target (and concentrated further through lossless optics, etc). Try it as a mythbusting project if you don't trust me!Read full review

The laser itself is a really bright powerful laser with a visible beam in dim light or darkness. That is what I wanted and it fits the bill, but I would not call it well made, but for under $6 with free shipping it's a pretty good deal. The battery barely fits in the casing, requires some forcing to make it close. It takes an 18650 rechargeable 3.7 volt battery, so you're not going to just slip a couple of AA batteries in it and go. The description says "18650/CR123" batteries, but that is incorrect. It's a 3.7 volt device so the 18650 is the one you need. It would take two CR123 batteries stacked to fill the battery compartment and they're 3 volts for the CR123 and 3.7 for the CR123A, which means that your total voltage would be 6 or 7.4 volts, which would fry the device. So, no CR123 batteries. Besides for the battery being a tight fit, the activator button doesn't have clean operation. Sometimes it clicks and sometimes it doesn't and sometimes you have to pull it back out to be able to make it work. The key lock safety on the bottom requires a fair amount of jiggling and a little forcing to make it turn. Overall the mechanical parts of this laser are just not well made. Last, I really don't believe this is a burning laser, which is okay as I didn't really expect it to be. It doesn't even heat anything up. It can be pointed right at my hand and if my eyes are closed I can't tell you if it's on or not. There is some detail about focusing the beam and being very specific about the distance to the match, etc. but that seems highly unlikely to work and the beam doesn't seem to actually focus. No matter, as I said I didn't really expect a $6 laser to be a true burning laser. If you want a burning laser, take a DVD burner apart and build one.Read full review

I got two of these to make sure that at least one of them would work. I have found that at this price point, it is a crap-shoot as to whether or not all of them work. Both of these worked even though one of them had aluminium curly fries in the battery area. I have had several of these in the last few years, because when they work, they are a lot of fun. I had the same complaint then as I do now, the focusing part doesn't have near the range it needs to have. The turning part is entirely too loose and after a 20 minute motorcycle ride, it would not focus at all. I know these are cheap, but even so, the main selling point is the burning part and if it doesn't do that then it's just an overpriced laser pointer. I messed with these to the point where I can get them to light a fuse or a match head most of the time. It gets three stars due to it's overall quality, but for the price I would still buy it again.Read full review

Cheap but very low quality. The included tips are too large and do not screw on. The laser itself is very low powered. I understand blue/violet lasers are never as bright as a green one but this is underpowered even with full batteries.

This is my first green laser. The cost was very low so good value. Quality appears good, yet have to remove and reinstall batteries almost every time before use, otherwise it doesn't light. The biggest concern is that which you hear about in the news. This laser has such an awesome range that you run out of things to put a little green dot on, and then it becomes a question of whether you can put a green dot on the body of that airplane approaching the airport. My "GUESS" is yes it can reach the airplane, but also with all the bad reasons you shouldn't even thinks about it. First its a federal crime, and second the potential hazard to the pilots and their passengers. So knowing all that would I recommend it, absolutely provide it's used responsibly.
