i purchased this movie because of a recommendation of friends. i knew they were ''lefties'' , but having seen 'amelie' , a wonderful movie by the same director, i purchased it without further investigation. i find art that is used to further a political agenda, no matter how ''noble'', only dilutes the experience of the art, whether music, painting, or sculpture. the story plot mainly denigrates munitions manufacturers. the animated sculptures , and odd characters were great. if i watch it again, it would only be to reference the sculpture and art direction.
Amelie, Delicatessen and now Micmacs!

i have enjoyed every film jeunet has made very much! Micmac had a lot going for it. While it doesnt have the charm of Amelie or Engagement, there are terrific moments and i recommend it to any fan of his Very enjoyable!
