The Mathews Switchback is the best hunting bow ever built. It is the perfect balance of everything Bowhunters need: compact size without being too short, relatively light weight, well-balanced, smooth-drawing, exceptional accuracy, and quiet...all while also still delivering acceptable speed. Bow makers have lost their way in the pursuit of delivering the most possible speed & a new product annually to drive sales, resulting in a dearth of loud, awkward-pulling speedsters, that are not as accurate or fun to shoot as the Switchback. Simply put, this is the bow that made Mathews a legendary bow maker & is still the best hunting bow of all time.

I used the Q2 that I bought used this past season and thought I had found the perfect bow. I killed two bucks over 50 yards with it. I still wanted a 70 lb draw weight(the Q2 was maxed @ 60 LBS) and I drew a Switchback for the first time. It was the smoothest and easiest draw cycle I have ever pulled. I am excited about the 17 season and the Switchback is as accurate as the Q2. Got four does eating corn every night. I cant wait till the rut hits. This year he is going on the wall or nothing. Great bow!

There are numerous good bows, but this is my favorite. I've had numerous shoulder problems, and the switchback is definitely the best bow for me. Easy to draw, accurate, good speed, everything I need out of a bow! Yes, I have shot other newer bows from Mathews, Hoyt, PSE, Elite, Strother (and a few others), but this remains on the top for me! Do yourself a favor and find a switchback!!
I purchased an 2005 model switchback for less than 500 dollars. It is in mint condition and looks as though it's hardly been shot. This bow shots like a dream and i consider it one of the best bows Mathews has ever produced. So if your in the market for a really fantastic bow and don't wont to spend over 500 dollars look into buying a used mathews bow. You wont be let down.
I bought the Mathews Switchback, because of the Mathews reputation for high quality, high performance compound bows. Specifically I chose the Switchback, because the bow came highly recommended by at least 3 other archery hunters, as a very smooth, quiet, and accurate bow. The Switchback is currently not the top end of the Mathews line, but it was readily available and in my price range. The only negative I have about the bow is that I have developed and anoying wrist slap, that I didn't have with my previous bow, but the problem is fixable with some minor changes in my form. I expect to rely on this bow for my hunting needs for several years to come.
