Its going on 8 years old at the time of this review but it still performs decently in new software. I rebuilt an old dual socket workstation and used two Xeon X5355 CPUs in it. With a mid range GPU the system can play most any new game reasonably well. In any software that can effectively use all 8 cores it performs somewhat like an FX-8150 or i5-2500 system. This CPU is the sweet spot for price/performance in systems that can not use the Xeon 5400 series processors. The X5365 CPUs may be 333 Mhz faster, breaking into 3Ghz territory, but they are more than triple the price.
Arrived fast, packaged in static bag and bubble wrapped for added protection. Swapped out the processors with these X5355's and machine booted right up. Working perfectly! Thank you!
