This guitar really is perfect for camping or anything venue where you don't want to lug an expensive full-sized guitar. For the money it's a good deal and has a nice tune. You do need to position the body under the arm or use a strap to get the guitar in a good position for proper playing. It is not designed to rest on your leg while sitting.

I really wanted to like this. I'm a huge Martin fan. From the time I cut the tape of the box open until the time I resealed it was about an hour. It feels/sounds like a 3rd grade band instrument. Nothing that resembles a guitar. I didn't have high expectations, but this didn't even register on the radar. If you put a dozen nails on a 2x4 and tie fishing line between them, you're going to get about the same tone.

You just can't go wrong buying a CF Martin. The reason I bought the backpacker was to be able to play while reclining in my easy chair. A full sized guitar just isn't comfortable and I've been practicing ALOT more lately 'cause I guess I spend more time in my easy chair then I estimated. Great LITTLE guitar.

Nice little travel piece, You have to use the strap it does not rest well on the leg. They do sell a foam piece that straps on to allow you to rest it w/o strap, It is pricey so strap it up, put light strings on it and have fun anywhere!
