Like her Cookie Cookbook, or her Cupecake cookbook, this is a very good book with many good recipes and some very good basic information which helps you reproduce fantastic pies. Great tasting pies. Good crust recipes. I also have the previous edition of Pies and Tarts and it is just as good. I would recommend you own both if you can find a inexpensive used copy.
