Bought this NOT to use as a chopping board but as an isolation platform for my turntable. Put some Isonode feet on it and it works perfectly. Build quality is superb. A weighty piece of quality wood that probably makes an excellent chopping block but I will never use it as such. Heartily recommend if you want a superb quality, good looking and weighty chopping board.

This is an exceptional value! I purchased walnut oil to finish it. I expect this to last forever; I am using it to open up coconuts with a coconut cleaver and this will get the job done without damage to my countertops. This would work great for meat, hard vegetables or anything that requires a lot of pressure.

This is an amazing cutting board. I cannot believe how thick and beautiful it is for the price. I have looked at other cutting boards of this quality that were over double the price. Great Buy!! I'm sure I'll get another one.

Great cutting board - wood grain runs the correct way and it is made of appropriate wood. Good construction. I should know: 30 years as a butcher. This piece will get handed down from generation to generation and will easily be in the family in 200 years. A little pricey but not for a cutting board as good as this.

Mine arrived very dry. I had to use up nearly a pint of walnut oil on both surfaces before it was acceptable for use with food. And your recommendation for "food grade" mineral oil is terrible. That stuff is just motor oil. Non-petroleum based oils like walnut, pecan, safflower, linseed. These are all much healthier. But don't use one of these until you oil it really well.
