MSI is one of the largest motherboard manufacturers in the world. They build oem boards for Acer, Emachines, Compaq, Dell, HP and many more. Their low end boards are no frills, solid and last for years without an issue. Their high end boards are fast, overclock very well, and include lots of extras. The K9N6PGM2-V2 isn't a high end board, but it is built very well and that's exactly why I bought it. I could've paid a little less for a lessor board, but why buy something you're going to have to replace 5 minutes after the warranty is up? Add to that the Nvidia onboard graphics and the Nvidia sound and network controller, and you've got a great start to Mom's or the kids new system. It's got everything you need onboard, and if you want better graphics, It's got a 16x PCI Express slot for future upgrades. Speaking of future upgrades, this board supports the original AMD AM2 Processors and AM2+ as well. It even supports AM3 processors so it's future proof. You can't go wrong with this board.Read full review
All in all, I find this to be a very good motherboard. I've installed other motherboards but this one was relatively easy. I did run into a slight problem installing ram, seems the socket for dimm 1 does not seat the ram and secure it too will, I found myself having to readjust it in order to get the system to boot. Other than that, with the speed, accessories, and such, it is nice to finally modernize my computing. This is a fairly good board.
Works well for a simple, small streamer. Installed it in a spare box and it runs fine for that purpose.

I was reluctant to buy a used motherboard. The motherboard I received is Fantastic! It is like Brand New! P.C. is blazing fast and plays all newest games (with 8 gigs of memory and 730gtx video card). Runs windows 10 flawlessly and downloaded all drivers with no issues.

The CPU support list for this thing is staggering; it will accept pretty much anything AM2, AM2+, and AM3. Fires right up. Excellent set of bios options. Decent nVidia graphics Problems: Only two slots for DDR2 RAM. Chipset runs hot; either replace the heatsink (which is easily done on this board) or do what I did: replace thermal compound and provide direct ventilation to the chipset.
