I made several upgrades at the same time, Win7 Home Prem 32 bit to Ult 64, 4GB dual channel DDR3 2133 to quad channel 8GB DDR3 1600, and added this card to use in CrossfireX with an identical card. I have a 790fx-gd70 with a 965. Windows Index remained at 7.5 and actual performance went DOWN, drastically. I have scoured the web to find out what I'm doing wrong, and have followed the instructions as best as I can. Can't get a stable OC in CrossfireX, even with more volts. Even with everything adjusted to "performance" and 800x600, dropped frames and freezing make game play very frustrating. Independent testing of each card reveals no problems, and these things are awesome by themselves. For me, these things just don't play nicely together. I have uninstalled, booted, shut down, used MSI drivers, ATI drivers (CCC), Windows' drivers, Afterburner, Kombustor, different slots, different rails... no different. Perhaps I'm unlucky or just an idiot, but I can only recommend this card as a single GPU, forget CrossfireX. For space and efficiency, don't buy two of these; you can get a single 5870 for less.Read full review
