Good but with unexpected quirks
This is a brushless, not brushed, motor, with three Hall rotor sensors. I don't have a driver yet and plan to experiment with it. The shafts are 8mm, front and rear. The sprockets and belt are 5mm Gates GT tooth profile, 9mm wide. The front sprocket is fixed to the shaft with an anaerobic adhesive, no fasteners. Heating to "almost too hot to touch" allows the sprocket/flywheel assy to be pulled off. The encoder is 500 lines per revolution, with a nonstandard mounting pattern, and with the ribbon cable connected directly to IDC pins (no connector), and the codewheel is secured by a single .035 internal hex setscrew (available from Tower420 and others here.) The mounting frame has some clever mechanical aspects for dealing with fabrication tolerances. Fasteners are mostly 5mm dia. ... The large sprocket is mounted in a pair of good NMB 15mm flanged bearings, probably also secured to the shaft by adhesive. The sprockets have 18 and 45 teeth. The belt has (I think) 75 teeth. It wasn't exactly what I wanted, but is a great source of parts and will allow me to learn how to drive this kind of BLDC. The photos are accurate.
