I was hitting Callaway x-hots before purchasing these awesome clubs. I have to admit moving to a forged iron was a bit intimidating, but I am completely convinced after hitting these for almost 2 months now, that I will never go back to a production club again. The JPX 825 pros are easy to hit and quite forgiving. They certainly let you know when you do not hit the center of the club, but at the same time do not punish you for it. Though they are forgiving, I can still work the ball with ease; high, low, left or right. At first, distance was decreased, but only because I was not hitting them well. Now that I am more consistent hitting of the center of the face, my distance and accuracy has improved from my x-hots.
Excellent clubs. Not as forgiving as my last irons (Taylormade RAC OS) but still are forgiving of misshits. I have only played them for 5 rounds and need to change the grips to to midsize to really give a good evaluation. So far I have gained @10 yards per club. They have much better feel than my old clubs and I know shot shaping will be possible as my skill level improves. Very satisfied with my purchase.

First time out with these new irons, a new putter, along with woods that haven’t been hit in 2 years, why not? Two penalties on tight par 4’s with water due to driver and a couple 3 putts because of poor chips and still shot an 84. I’ve done worse. The Irons felt great and mishits weren’t far off on yardage or direction. So what I’m trying to say, if the driver and wedges had been working I may have broken 80 for the first time on a very difficult course. Dealers are closing these out with the new JPX 850’s coming out and, Boron or not, these club feel excellent. Nothing feels like forged and Mizuno does forged better than most.
My wife and I both are playing them. A nice midpoint between a traditional forged player iron and a game-improvement model. We play on very tight lies here in Florida in the winter. All the snowbirds have killed every blade of grass they can run a cart over. You can pick these with the limited bounce and get that small divot. If you are anywhere from 6-16 hdcp, you want these (Pro model). Get the graphite shafts. Excellent balance with a mid/low kick point. Took me four sets, moving to senior shafts to find the right iron.... this is a worthy iron in a nice price point.

Replaced my Titliest AP2 (710) irons with the Mizuno 825 pro iron set. Lost a 3 iron but gained a GW in the process. The Mizunos are more forgiving on mis-hits and distance is slightly better up and down the set. Overall, a nice step up in look, feel and playability.
