lamp was an exact replacement NOT with easy install and works for an hour then tv shuts itself down.. price was super low so i ordered one and did install. thought i had it fixed then after about 60 minutes it would flicker and shut off. it would start back up after 10 minutes and repeat. researched and found several postings about the color wheel being bad. did more research and learned that others advised against using generic lamps due to issues they cause and in some cases damage they cause. As suggested i stopped using tv (Mitsubishi DLP 65" and ordered another lamp this time original replacement. cost three times as much. came in a week. did install same as before. This took care of the shut off issue and i think it is actually brighter. ran TV for over 12 hours now without an issue. live and learn some things cant be replaced by generic cheaper parts. also i had texted seller during issues with TV and no response. once you buy dont expect and service whats so ever. even returned a lamp (bought and extra) and no refund even with the RMA number etc.. I'm on my 3rd bulb in less than a year. The first one blew only a few days after the warranty expires and the company wouldn't do a single thing to help. Since it was literally about 3 or 4 days after the warranty they said it was all on me. So, like a dummy that didn't learn his lesson, I paid for another one. This one lasted even less time. It blew about 3 months after I bought it. Since it was within the warranty I sent it back for a 3rd bulb. Maybe 3 times a charm....DEF NOT WITH THESE BULBS OR THIS COMPANY! The 3rd bulb blew in less than a week!!!!! Spend the money on a real bulb from a real company. You'll end up saving in the long run. I promise!!

This lamp was a perfect fit in my TV, but had to be inserted carefully to avoid warping the housing. My second try was completely successful. The TV picture is indistinguishable from that which I got from the original lamp. Would definitely recommend this lamp to anyone who likes their Mitsubishi and wishes to extend its life and avoid the cost of a replacement TV, which is not inconsiderable given the size of the screen (65 inches).

Mitsubishi 915b403001 lamp for tv wd73735 works good (now tv has picture). Just remember to put the cover back over the opening to make it work (this is the cover plate that you take off to get at the lamp housing - tv will not show pic unless that cover is in place - it must make some kind of connection to the lamp).
