This product was originally developed to seal tears in the foamed-neoprene artificial rubber from which scuba divers' wet suits are made. I'm sure it's excellent for that -- but I've never used it for that (not a scuba diver). This liquid polyurethane substance 'cures' by undergoing a chemical reaction with the water vapor in the air, therefore it should be used in layers that are as thin as possible -- so the substance below the surface can obtain the water vapor it must have to 'cure'. I have found this adhesive/sealant to be wonderful for a wide variety of uses & I'm discovering new ways to use it all the time. It has even allowed me to repair cracked plastic in ice trays so they don't leak any more! A film of this stuff spread out on a polyethylene plastic bag that's been lightly coated with silicone oil (or Vaseline) can be peeled off the backing when it's cured. A sheet of it 1/64th-inch thick (0.016") is TOO TOUGH to be torn by ordinary human strength. Since this product cures by absorbing water vapor from the air, the liquid within the tube must be protected from the air. I've found an effective way to do this is to obtain some of that aluminized 'mylar' plastic film that's used in birthday balloons (& etc.), coat it with Vaseline on both sides so the sealant won't adhere to it, then put a 4" square of that film over the mouth of the tube & screw the plastic cap down good & tight. The aluminum coating on the mylar blocks the passage of water molecules & the very thin mylar fits right into the threads of the tube & cap.Read full review

I like that it’s self leveling. I believe that any difficulty I’ve had with leaks, is that my application of the product could have been more precise.
