I have received and installed the unit and it seams to register and work but the depth is way off. Im not sure why? I haven had a chance to really test the sounder out in deeper water so I want to wait until I do that before i comment. The depth in the marina is 12 ft and it shows 2 feet?

We have a group that flies into a remote outpost in Ontario, Canada every summer. We have multiple portabale locators we use for this trip. The Humminbrds have worked very well for us over the years. We always buy Duracell lantern batteries as the cheaper batteries will die bofore our 7 day trip is over. The units are simple to use, reliable and very portable. I recommend a zip tie on the transducer line at the back of the boat to keep the transducer out of the prop if it the suction cup lets go and to keep the locator in the boat if you are dragging a transducer at high speed. Tight Lines. -Rondogpike-
We were headed to a 10 horse lake, which meant Jon boat. The portable case handled all the stability issues. The beeper was very audible and let you know when you were on. There wasnt any problems with the screen being visable. The portable model came with a suction cup which I was worried about, but it worked fine. The one thing that one should do to make things better is to mount it to the trolling motor. You can buy the troll mounts for about $25.00 That way you dont have to go through the off and on with the cup and the outboard to change spots.Any time you fish time is a factor and the mount might save enough for that one last spot. The battery pack is made up of two lantern type batteries and has some stay power. Its well worth the investment twice over. It's an edge in figuring the fish pattern both in depth and activity. There is is a lot of them out there and there not that hard to find .Money wise you cant beat the price of a used one when it does a $400 job and you can still get transducers, mounts, ect.Read full review
A very easy to use fishfinder. Simple menu to scroll through and set to your fishing liking. Also got the optional speed and temp transducer, so all the information I need to catch fish is right on the fishfinding display. I like it alot and will use on anyother boat I ever own.
