It seems I go through these about every other year. They crack around the potting job in the back. My guess is that the winter/summer temperature cycle may have something to do with it but once cracked, water gets in and the intensity diminishes. This year it was the 200 kHz performance while the 83 kHz still found bottom and looked good. I replaced the transducer and now both give a clean colorful bottom image. My third transducer in about 5 years, so I wouldn't say it's durable. Since it's the bottom sounder not the GPS chart plotter, it has nothing to do with GPS. (answering above questions) Installation is a breeze cutting the old cable at the transducer and using it to pull in the new cable to the dash and to the plotter.

Looked long and hard to find replacement for my lowrance, my unit worked but I needed new transducer/ sensor. Great I don't have to buy a new unit. Others at name brand stores in Cabela's ect. wanted way too much for transducer. Greatful to find it here. Very reasonable price.

Exactly what it says. Temp and fish-finder. Just make sure the source end matches yours. Only issue is the 20' cable should be longer. Should be minimum 25' or 30'. You can always loose the extra wire-can't stretch it!

This item was just what the doctor ordered. It mounted easily to my boat and works great. Plenty of cord to run from the stern to the cockpit where my graph is located.
