My experience is from a used phone with a cracked screen and no charger and I still think this phone is awesome. It's pretty much the Galaxy SII on steroids. I used to tell people it was the S3 but after seeing the hardware button and the processor the S3 is different. Being a HTC HD2 owner I was a fan of larger phones and wanted a phone with a better processor and bigger internal storage. Using a meager 512MB with the HTC HD2 I am spoiled with the interal 16GB. I already have a 16GB external so I was used to having all that memory. I like installing many of the apps and the phone still flys through without lag. I being a HTC and skeptical about samsung phones with the issues and poor battery life they had with previous phones (the vibrant in particular) this is a great phone. Battery life and screen durability is in question but I've learned with moderation of use the phone will last at least 6 hours. I was able to use WiFi, chat on social networks and social apps and watch a movie on a battery life of 72% and it did not die on a 2 hour bus trip.Read full review
I used to be an iphone fan! I experience iphone 2G, 3G and 4S (don't wanna waste money on iphone 5). Loved the iOS and the phone. But recently i've been reading so many good things about Android OS and the power it gives its users for customization! And not to mention the specs of the Iphone compared with many Android phone. So, i decided to give Samsung phones a try. Iphone still uses a slow Dual core processor with merely 1 GB ram. And the iOS has been using the same old boring icons since it's first release which is really disappointing! Apple wants to sell this cheap dual core phone to a price which is higher than the Android QUAD core phones! Seriously? Yea! Even the Iphone 5 is a stupid dual core but look at it's price, lmao!. Adroid phones such as Samsung has Quad core phones with 2GB rams for almost the same or less than the price of Iphones which is a HUGE advantage for the people! The Hardware rocks on Adroid phones and the OS is so user friendly and so much easy to customize the way YOU like! ANY way you like! AND! don't get me started on the Screen sizes. After i left Apples iphones and moved onto Adroid phones with bigger screen size thats when i realized what I've been missing all these years! I have nothing against Apple but seriously if you tried an Adroid phone with big display, you wouldn't even turn back to Apple! Websurfing, gaming, chating, and EVERYTHING else ROCKS on bigger displays! I respect both Apple and Samsung but to me it looks like Apple wants to sell cheap phones for a price thats not even worth it after you compared iphone hardware vs other Adroid phones. iOS is really boring, users can't customize it like Android. Well, i can assure you that i will never again buy or go back to Iphones. Android is the bomb!!!!! Trust me.Read full review
I've bought this phone because my iPhone 3gs broke (a month after the warranty expired :/) and I wanted a replacement. I prefer phones with stylus and when I've seen this phone in an AT&T store I absolutely loved it. I really love this cellphone because of its huge screen. I was considering buying a tablet, but I am too lazy to carry another piece of electronics around and that was what stopped me. Now it's not a problem because I take the cell phone with me anyway. What I like about the phone: - I can comfortably browse web with and read pdfs, so I don't have to carry my Mac Book Air with me that often. - the stylus is inductive like in Wacom tablets and it is pressure sensitive, so I can draw if I am bored - it easily integrates and synchronizes with my google account, including the calendar - It is aware that I am a poor grad student and don't have an unlimited data plan. It logs in flawlessly into UCB wifi network (iPhone makes me re-type the password every time) and keeps track of how much data I have left in each months - The phone can check with a global database of telemarketers and block them silently with a number of apps. No one wants me to buy a home protection system anymore. - Compass and gps are way more accurate and fast than in my previous phone - There are ad blockers for rooted phones, and they are effective - It can stream music from websites like grooveshark - You can replace the icons in the dock with whatever you like. And you can replace all the standard apps with whatever you like, too. - You can install a theft-protection programs that survive the factory reser - I can take hand-written notes with the pen and insert shots from camera in it really fast. I can take notes in the dark now (and it's a real blessing if you are taking data in an atomic physics lab :)). And it comes with a flashlight! - It's a well pre-configured Linux computer! You can install busybox and shell and run bash scripts and execute all your favorite commands on it! - its hardware supports t-mobile 3g network if you install tweaked drivers - starting developing for it is really easy. I guess it is true for all Android phones. What I dislike: - You have to install an app like nudnik to make the reminders in calendar more persistent. Otherwise I just miss them entirely. - The standard web browser misbehaves on web pages with viruses. For this reason I replaced it with chrome. - Stylus positioning is off and there is no standard utility to adjust the position - Huge screen drains the battery fast if you keep it on. Otherwise, is I charge it overnight and use it as usual I have 30-50% of charge left at night. - I was sort of amused with google voice app when I tried to add a voice memo. Now it makes me wonder if my pronunciation is so bad or it is the speech recognition that is not working properly. It was able to give me correct directions to the airport though. - web, chrome, dolphine don't display Tektronix web interface correctly. I had to install firefox to access it. - I don't trust it with the sensitive data. Who knows what the previous owner pre-installed on it.Read full review
