A wonderful story to help kids work through their fears. I don’t like creepy scary stories for young children. The story teaches bravery to venture into the unknown and ends with a positive outcome. My 6, 4 & 3 year old grandkids loved it.

I'm A Little Old lady and I am seldom afraid of anything so I got this book for my 4 year old granddaughter. Although the little old lady in the book had reason to be afraid she kept on going and in the end she overcame what tried to bother her. Great book to read with a young child.

One of my all time FAVORITE books! I used this book in a cooking and literature class I taught. We made pumpkin cookies-but you could make pumpkin pie or any other pumpkin food. The story is an adorable one that the children can do actions to. We decided that if the little old woman was not afraid of anything, we should not be afraid to try new foods! I also had the children try pumpkin seeds, and use the seeds as math counters, amking differnt sums on a mat of two pumpkins.
My son and I love to read books with an autumn setting. We were given this book on the occasion of my birthday (today) and have read it twice already. This awesome tale follows an woman as she walks through the woods and comes upon noisy shoes, wiggling pants, a scary pumpkin head, and a host of other pesky and noisy men's attire. The woman announces to each that she is not afraid and she continues her walk while they follow. The scary pumpkin head does unnerve her a little, but she regains her composure once she reaches her house. Along the way, the reader and child are encourage to perform the noises and actions of the noisy clothing. It is fun and cathartic for those preschoolers with a growing number of nightly fears. The scary clothing is reduced to a pitiful set of rags once it realizes it cannot scare the woman and says "What is to become of us?". The woman is moved by this question and she has an idea to give the clothing a purpose. You will have to read the book to find out the resolution! LOL This book is a great one to empower our preschoolers to stand up to their fears and develop empathy for other's unpleasant circumstances.Read full review
