I accidentally ordered this series thinking it was a different show. Was the best mistake I could've made. While the show I thought it was is mildly entertaining, this show absolutely blew me away. I ordered the second season before finishing the first, the third before finishing the second and so on... Characters are engaging, acting is well done, story is intriguing and captivating. This is seriously the best TV series from start to finish I've ever seen and I'm a big The Walking Dead fan but this series stayed just as engaging from start to finish unlike the walking dead which I kind of thought went downhill after the first 4 or 5 seasons. Lost is the type of show that will give you a flood of different emotions and literally rip your heart out at times. Is full of mystery, action, and lil romance which I'm not really into but at least its not corny and unrealistic in the sense of what love is about. Seriously, give it a try. I highly recommend it, and I rarely watch any TV series. Even got my mom and siblings hooked on it, and my 9yr old autistic son loved it. Worth every penny!Read full review

My wife and I like good TV series, especially the type that has twists and turns that keep it unpredictable and keep us coming back for more. LOST Season 1 fits this description quite well. We are HUGE NCIS fans (just went through all of the first 6 seasons in three months) but in those you have to pay close attention to details, names, places, etc. so you don't get behind in the story. Once in a while it’s fun to just latch onto something like LOST, which quite frankly requires little thought to follow and enjoy. It has VERY good acting and the story is very well written. A friend of mine said he and his family were addicted to it so I had to take the chance and bid on and won season 1 on EBay. I now plan to obtain the other 5! I rated season 1 with a 4 instead of a 5 (it's more like a 4.5 but that wasn't available) because sometimes it gets a little slow and seems to be filling time so they can get in an entire season. I am told it continues to improve and just gets better and better … we’ll see. I recommend this series if you like good stories, acting, special effects, scenery, and sound. Otherwise I would stay away:-).Read full review
I bought this item, the entire first season of LOST, for my husband, who has been sitting on the sofa munching munchies and watching it for the last six weeks. He seems entirely happy with it and I foresee many moons of happy watching in the future. I haven't gotten hooked for a couple of reasons: I think it's going to play out like the X-Files, with success leading to increasingly amorphous plot devices and no answers in the end. And that bald-headed old dude: he knows more than he's saying. And that monster thing seems inspired partly by Forbidden Planet. One other thing: don't watch that first episode with the blow-by-blow jet crash, over and over and over in endless flashbacks, right before you fly to and from Alaska on seven airplanes. Honestly, I was afraid my husband was going to upload it and watch it on the dadgum plane. He woulda been fine, but I would have been hanging from the ceiling of the cabin all the way.Read full review
Once I saw the pilot episodes (the first two), I knew this was a show for me. It had everything you want in a series. It had the cool plane crash and backstories before the crash which kept me watching for the entire season. And every episode after the crash kept me on edge and wanting more. It had the qualities that anyone would want whether they want to see action/adventure, drama, mystery, comedy, or romance. There's always something going on with this deserted island whether it's someone trying to figure out a scheme to get off the island, someone trying to sabotage someone else's plans, or people just trying to make the best of a bad situation. Lost came out when there wasn't a whole lot of competition as far as action goes on the major networks. 24 and Alias were the main competition (excellent shows also), but Lost held up their end with a bunch of unknown actors/actresses. The actors/actresses were definitely excellent choices. Whoever did the casting for this show won't be out of work long if this show decides to call it quits. The entire cast seems like they were born to play the part that they were given, which I think is a credit to the person who did the casting for the series. Where would this show be without Jack, John Locke, Charlie, and Sawyer? Who knows, but the smaller parts of Micheal, Walt, Siyed (sp?), Jin, Sun, Boone, Hurley, Shannon, and Claire are just as important. Even Vincent the dog plays an important role. Of course, you can't forget the beautiful but sneaky Kate (she's somewhat a partner-well not partner, more like an adversary-in crime to Sawyer) who likes to throw a monkey wrench into everything. Jack is always looking out for her, but you never know who she's looking out for. Mostly herself, but sometimes others. That's what's cool about the show. Their is always mystery and intrigue. Who did what to who? Who is going to hook up with who? Who is going to put everything on the line for who? There are always surprises, and you never know what type of spin the writers are going to pull over your eyes from episode to episode. It's always something new, and the show is far from anything that has been done before. What I love about the show the most is the way the backstories are put in, always having to do with something in the present, showing why something is happening because of someone's past history. What a well chosen cast, but also, what excellent writing. The writers make us feel for the characters, whether it's Jack and his neverending problems with being the doctor and leader, Kate trying to hide her past, or even Sawyer who's a dink but he does things that a dink doesn't do which shows he has some heart. Far from ordinary, Lost astonishes and will keep you on the edge of your seat. The only thing that kind of stinks about the first season is that there are so many questions that still need to be answered at the end. I guess that's why there's another season (which is cool now because you can just go right to second season), but I was kind of ticked when I first seen it on TV, because I knew I had to wait eight long months (just guessing, I'm not sure how long I had to wait, but I think I'm in the ballpark) to continue the journey.Read full review
I did not watch the first season on TV. Thought it was just another one of those survival shows. I happened on it at the video store and decided to rent the first DVD and see what it was all about. I got hooked on the first episode. I scrambled back to the video store and rented the entire season so I would not have to wait when I did have a time to continue watching. I watched it every night after work and got my son hooked on it too. He started after I did so he would watch the one I previously watched. Sometimes I would get started later than him and he'd be waiting for me to finish my DVD to be able to start for him....needless to say, it is a very good series. It has a lot of twists and turns and one of the who done its that is very hard to figure out. Just when you think you've got it, you don't! Since we started this in the middle of the second season on TV, I am DVRing the TV episodes and waiting for the reruns so we can continue with the second season. I bought the season one on ebay and am watching it again. I missed a lot of details the first time, I am discovering. I would highly recommend this movie. It is stimulating and totally engrossing.Read full review
