WE find Lord Peter Wimsey Mysteries a relaxing fun evening of TV watching. By buying the whole set we can binge watch it which has become our preferred way of watching series like this. It's done as a period piece set in the late 20's and early 30's. It's got jolly good humor and likable characters. If tongue in cheek british mystery is your cup of tea, I heartily recommend it.

I don't often find a movie that I enjoy as much as the book, and that stays reasonably close to the book, but these do! Ian Carmichael's interpretation of Lord Peter is simply fun.

I watched this series when it first came out. My original vhs recordings were very poor. When Acorn finally came out with their VHS, I order and enjoyed them. Now I decided to upgrade to the DVD in hopes they will last a long time and not fade as some VHS are prone to do. The quality is excellent -- just as I remembered from the original. It is still one of my favorite series that I will continue to watch again and again. Ian Carmichael and Glen Huson will forever be the quintessential Lord Peter and Bunter!
IOn the whole, these stories are very engaging and well-acted. Love the music! Ian Carmichael is a little older and more portly than I would picture Lord Peter but he carries it off very well. He is charming and likeable. As usual, I have trouble understanding the minor characters but the major players speak very clearly. The mysteries themselves offer enough clues to keep the watcher engaged but the endings are usually a total surprise. If you like a good story without violence or sex, this is a series for you.
